You are so right about the Leelanau County Railway's colors sounding alot like the Bloomer Line's. I choose to model my locomotives after the Bloomer Line scheme because its so simple but yet at same time eye catching. As of yet its all in the planning stage due to lack of space and money, but one can dream. To truly give my Leelanau County Railway a "shortline" look, I am not painting my brown BN walthers russell snowplow or my grey and orange jordan spreader. With them all i will do is add letters LECY to their sides.
For weekend passenger service, the LECY has 12 athearn heavyweight passenger cars (10 round roof & clerestory roof coaches, 1 diner, and 1 observation car), 6 MDC harriman passenger cars (4 coaches, 1 diner, 1 observation), 5 MDC 50' pullman cars(5 coaches, and 2 Bachmann Spectrum open ended excursion cars with sides. They will all be Chessie yellow with black lettering.
