Greg, I am the great-great granddaughter of Thomas Ray Peel whose father Thomas Peel accompanied Daniel Boone on the Virginia and Kentucky journeys. My ancestor Thomas Ray was born in Fayette County, Kentucky and is buried in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Texas. He married Anne Wood, daughter of Dr. John and Lucy Henderson Wood in Kentucky. The Wood and Peel families migrated to Louisville, then south through Arkansas and on to Texas. All Peels remained in Northwest Arkansas (Bentonville) with the exception of my ancestor who came on to Texas with his wife and her family. I can put you in touch with Willis Finley who has tons of information on the Peel family in America.
