For a long time i have been trying to locate any information on the parents of my GEORGE WASHINGTON MAYFIELD, In the 1880 Census, i find my George living with a family, J.W.Whitworth and his wife Martha. George was 5 years old, and said to be an orphan. I also have been unable to find decendants of this Whitworth family, they had 3 daughters; but not there in the 1880, as they most likely had already married.
I have been trying to find out how and why the Whitworths had George; and to try and find George's parents names, I am not sure if they were deceased at this time, if they were, i still cannot find any death records of Mayfield's at this time frame. Nor any with George as a son, George was born 3 May 1874-75. Any help, would be greatly appriciated.
