made it out last night with steelytom. this time i remembered to charge the batteries! also remembered the fishfinder/gps, the maps, the tackle box, the hat light and everything else i had forgotten the last 3 or 4 trips. funny how i never forget the snacks and beer.
made it to the water right around 7pm and started scouting. started searching for fish in Q5 headed towards jakes. found fish in P4 - O4 in about 120-130' of water, fish were anywhere from 45-70'. i took some pix of the screen i'll post when i download them off the camera. we had a couple pull downs, a gar strike, and 3 fish hooked. mine, of course, immediately dove under the boat and got the line wrapped around the trim tab. tom landed 2, one short (right around 18-19") that was released and one nice 8# fish that took an ice bath. stayed over fish all night pretty much but couldn't get much interest in the herring.
