Seems like your audience will probably get it. However....I used the phrase, "Her life goes by at sixty words a minute" in a song circa 2001. Older people understand it, but young people don't get it at all - some of them haven't even heard of a typewriter, much less how many words/minute you can type. Of course, it did get cut so I'm not losing any sleep over it.
