I can relate and would agree that the Super Katana is way too much for your first shirt. I have been competing for about three years now, started in the Fury, then the regular Katana and about six months ago the Super Katana and there is a big differenc e between the shirts. Here is my progression over the last three years (I'm 242 and 43 years old):
Three years ago in a loose Fury: 352
One year later in a tight Fury: 407
Six months later in the Katana: 424
November 2008 Super Katana: 475 (new FL USAPL record)
I know that the Katana would have been too much for me to handle right away. It even took me about two months to figure out the Super Katana versus the Katana that I had worn.
