titan f6 fit

I bought a size 48( chest messures 47.5) titan f6 shirt and went up to 450lbs trying to get it to touch with no luck. Friend says I need to go up a size and may even need to go to a custom shirt due to my arm size(18.5 cold) being out of proportion to my chest size (47.5 with arms to my side. Shirt also did a number on my arms friend says some ripping is to be exspected but mine was excessive. I would like to know if this is part of the break-in process or do I need to go up a size and if I do need to go up a size can I exchange it.
