Posted by rod newman on 10/9/2007, 12:02 am The bench press belt I ordered from Lifting Large arrived today. I am very disappointed with this product. Nice piece of leather, nice buckle, but appalling design faults. First fault Second Fault It's really disappointing as I wanted to use this belt in my local National comp on 27 October. So what do I do. I don't want to tamper further and can't no matter what get my preferred buckle position (I don't want to widen the relevant belt hole and in any event the srew holes on the buckle aren't right anyway. How can this be fixed up. Can you put a buckle on a replacement comp lever bench belt and courier this to me and I send you the faulty original back, or do I just charge this extremely frustrating purchase back on my credit card and go find a belt elsewhere? Thanks, Rod

Hi.
The distance between the 5th and 6th holes is wrong - about 1/8" short than between the other holes. This means that I cannot fit the metal pieced that acts as a washer or buffer between the screws and the belt, as its holes don't line up with the belt holes. God know how such an error was mmade as the other hole distances seem ok. The positioning at holes 5/6 is the right position for me at this time, so it is a problem that matters - I can't fit the metal piece as its holes don't line up so I can't have the lever buckle at this position.
The screw holes on the buckle are very poor to say the least - extremely poorly finished! On one of them it seem impossible to feed the crew in straight. Believe me I have been trying - the screw head is a bit burred. as a result and so I have stopped trying. Also on this AND the other hole, which does feed in straight, you don't seem to be able to fully crew the screw in to make everything flush.
