Katana size and colors

I have a Red Katana 44 that fits well and has worked great for me. It was used a few times by a bigger guy before I got it. I wanted to get a new shirt so I got a new Black 46 Katana a whlie back and have been trying to get it to touch and can only get to 2 boards so far. I can hardly get my arms out to the bar marks. Is there any difference in the shirts by color? Does the Red stretch more?? The chest plate is 7 inches wide on the 44 and 6 inches wide on the 46 which I don't understand unless it is miss labeled?
