Tom is correct. THe briefs will not add that much to your workout weights or alter your form. They will keep you tight and injury free though
: I'm sure Mike has better answers for you, but
: I will give you my take. I don't think
: briefs are going to change your numbers or
: squat style in any major way. Therefore if
: you train alone I don't see any problems
: with continuing on with what you have
: already been doing. I lift at a Gold's gym
: and most of the time cannot get a competent
: spotter, or don't care to get one.
: Depending upon your squat style, numbers you
: are putting up, and competence would also be
: factors to be considered. I think most guys
: will tell you to use a spotter though.
: Sometimes I don't want a spotter because I
: know that if I don't get the lift I am in a
: hurt locker, it kind of gives me extra
: motivation...especially in the bench...of
: course some certified folks have already
: called me crazy so you might want to listen
: to someone else. Good luck to you. Post a
: video or two if you want to check your
: depth, or you form.

: hey Mike and everyone, ive been lifting for
: 2
: years been training with belt and wraps
: only, but have ordered briefs to wear. I
: train alone at 6.30am on the squat in a
: squat rack for safety but do you think
: squatting alone in briefs (with the added
: extra weight) is ok? or would I need a
: competent spotter. I would say Im fairly
: safe with squatting and form is good.
