The late pope has already been proposed for sainthood. In the hearing concerning a candidate for sainthood there is a Devil's advocate who tells why the candidate ought to be rejected.
It has been said that the scandals involving parish priests and boys are small compared with what goes on with boys in monasteries. There is a supposed conspiracy among the hierarchy to cover all that, which goes to the commander-in-chief level.
Needless to say, I don't know of any facts here, but enough has been said to cast a shadow on John Paul II's memory.
