Truthfully I personally don't thinj New York City needs another giant stadium, more grand commercial centers or, for that matter, the Olympics. We have had enough trouble and I believe that we don't need to wave any more red flags at the crazy bulls out there. However, this, to my mind, is not a crucial political question. The crucial political issues with which I believe the Liberal Party should concern itself are education, the fact that our teachers are totally hogtied by the stupid "standards" and just teaching to the tests; health care for all, equitable taxation for all (changes in controls for offshore companies); civil liberties etc. When I first joined the Liberal Party in 1965 (when I could first vote) our concerns were things like Meals on Wheels, Senior housing, Planned Parenthood Centers (or lack of), after school programs, and Medicaid. We really need to go back to the things that really concern the average American and I don't think a stadium is one of those things.

I agree with you and with the fact that the highest bidder should win, taxpayers shouldn't have to foot the bill etc.
