Thanks for the acknowledgement, Martin. You are so right in your observations! Per reported documentation, Bush and the Republicans (particularly conservatives) have long been planning to erase this New Deal program. And, Bush wants this "solution" to the Social Security problems to be his legacy! Yes, there have been suggestions on how to fix the problem made by several such as AARP and HIPPA...I do wish that the Democrats would not just oppose the Presiden't proposal but, in a timely fashion, actually present a well thought out plan!
