Normally I would expect the Liberal Party to support her but I expect that the Democrats and Working Family parties will veto this idea forcing the Liberals to run against Hillary if they in fact run a candidate for the Senate. This is the easy dilema. To gain ballot status the Liberals need 50,000 votes. Who will they run? As with the Senatorial campaign the Democrats and Working Family parties will not allow cross endorsements by the Liberals so the Liberals will have to run an independant candidate who can get at least 50,000 votes. Who? The party has to start planning now. When I asked about the 2004 presidential election I was assured on this website that the Liberal party would be in the presidential compaign. It never happened. Now I am hearing that the party will make a comeback in 2006 but we need names and candidates, etc., etc. not just promises. My participation in this website (from far away Thailand) indicates that I have a conitnuing interest in New York politics and a hope that the party survives. So? Ronachai

The 2006 election will be a make or brake election for the Liberal Party posing several dilemas.
