Why is it that whenever one hears of possible AMT reforms in Congress this year, the issue of how to pay for the reform is always raised? And the answer is almost always by increasing taxes in another area. For crying out loud, how about reducing government spending and living within our means for a change? Government spending increases higher than the rate of inflation and faster than the growth of the economy year-by-year. Why is it that this must happen every year with almost no debate. We truly live in an entitlement society.
