Very true. But the emphasis here is to improve their lives by empowering them to get ahead. Someone whose annual salary is 45-50K per year gets approximately $600-700 taken out of every paycheck (assuming they are paid every other week) in taxes. If the size of government was greatly shrunk and those tax payments were reduced to, say $300-400 per paycheck, imagine what that would do for the average middle class family?
