You are right in that, nationally, the Democratic Party is much closer to our positions than the national Republicans are. However, to call the National Democratic Party a 'liberal' party is like calling a house cat a lion; it would be a considerable overstatement.As for CT, unfortunately I'm not familiar with the political parties operating in your state. The only thing I could suggest would be to contact your state's Election Board and get a list of political parties & their contact people, & get in touch with them. You may want to see if there is an active Green Party in CT as a start.
