If people 65+ get publicly funded healthcare regardless of income, shouldn't everyone else?

In general, both Democrats and Republicans believe in fully funding the healthcare for the nations elderly. Republicans want more of it done in the private sector and Democrats want more of it done in the public sector; however, the bottom line, is that both parties think taxpayers should subsidize Medicare for the elderly because neither party wants to alter the benefits of this voting bloc of dinosaurs.
