Posted by Greg K. on December 14, 2005, 12:39 pm, in reply to "Medicare" Most elderly are financially better off than working people, so why should a working family who is struggling to raise a family, educate their children and fund their college tuition, and pay a mortgage, fund the healthcare for an older generation? If people 65+ get publicly funded healthcare regardless of income, shouldn't everyone else?

In general, both Democrats and Republicans believe in fully funding the healthcare for the nations elderly. Republicans want more of it done in the private sector and Democrats want more of it done in the public sector; however, the bottom line, is that both parties think taxpayers should subsidize Medicare for the elderly because neither party wants to alter the benefits of this voting bloc of dinosaurs.
