Ambrose and Sudee (Susan was Sudee's mother's name (Susan Messer, husband; Ewell Messer) and after a time Sudee began using Susan as her name, too) had three daughters: Georgia, who married Ben Baker, living most of their lives in Harlan, KY; Bertha, who married Newell Brabson, living in Cincinnati; and Sarah (Ethel), who never married Finley Charles but gave birth to my mother, his daughter, Virginia.
Odd that just this past week I was back in Indiana going through some old pictures and found one, the only one to my knowledge that we have, of Ambrose and his daughters. I can't remember if the picture was dated but as a guess I'd say it was around 1910. John"
What I've since discovered/understood is that Ewell Messer married "Sarah", not Susan as I'd written. I've found several records indicating my great-mother's name, wife of Ambrose (I was unaware of Ambrose's first marriage), was listed as Sudie or Sudee and Susan, as you've listed. I suppose what I'm curiously working on is information about Ambrose, your great-grandfather. If you would, please, send me a link to your family tree or some general information about Ambros(e).
