I am looking for the Griffits family from Livingston, KY. My grandfather who is now deceased was Cherokee and Blackfoot and born and raised in Livingston. He started working for a coal mine and the mining company mistakenly put Griffin on his paycheck. He tried to correct it but they stated to get a paycheck he must leave it so he went the rest of his life with Griffin as his last name. He migrated to Illinois and married and made a family. We have to have proof of a birth certificate or some document linking him to a tribe to prove our indian ancestry. Anyone that could help please email me! God Bless
