Posted by Lenore Hayes I found a letter from the Commonwealth of KY, Military Department, Frankfort, verifying Michael Carroll's service, in my late grandmother's belongings. Her name was Esther Carroll (b. 1.29.1894/Utah) and I am assuming that there were somehow related, but I have not been able to locate any information about Michael, such as birthdate, place of birth, etc. (to connect him to my grandmother). Esther's grandfather was a William Carroll (b.1.3.1815/Fredrickton, New Brunswick). Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lenore Hayes

I'm looking for a Michael Carroll who was in the 8th Kentucky Vol. Calvary (Company E) in 1862-63. Then, in the 53rd KY Vol. Mounted Infantry (Company C) in 1864-65.
