Posted by Lynda Rowe 1. Howard Berry, b. 1909, married Anna Mae Raines, children-Virgie, Gene, Harold, Leroy, Mary, Wilma, and Billy Berry. 2. Thomas Robert "Boyd" Berry, b. 1870's, m. Mary Pauline "Polly" Shelton (dau. of Lincoln Shelton and Louise Lawson), children include Howard, Nelve, Sarah Louise, Ethel, Sinda, Henry Clinton, and Edna Berry. Boyd was in the Spanish-American War & drew a pension. The family moved from Whitley to Jackson Co. in the 1930's. 3. Nelson "Dock" Berry, b. 1854, m. Sarah Wallace, children were "Boyd" Berry and his brother Hugh. They were raised by their grandfather, Hugh Wallace. 4. Thomas J. Berry, b. 1830's??, m. Lydia Payne in Claiborne Co., TN, several children including Nelson "Dock" Berry. Thomas J. and his brother William Jackson Berry (aka "Jack" and "Dock" Berry) volunteered for the KY 7th Calvary, USA, and brother Nelson Berry married Johanna Payne, Lydia's sister. 5. This is the brick wall! Thomas J. Berry's parents are a mystery to me. I am hoping to connect to John W. Berry, Preston Berry, James Berry, Thomas Berry or William Berry, all of Whitley Co. If so, then I believe my branch of the Berry family connects to Francis Berry, b. 1755, and Sarah Sharp Berry, sons Francis Berry Jr., and Layfayette Berry, all who lived in and around Whitley Co. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

"Dock" Berry then married Emily Pike in Rockcastle Co., children include James E., John, Casper, Foister, Belle, Amanda and Susan Berry.
