I'm looking for any link to an African American named George S. Brooks, born in 1845 as a slave on a small Kentucky farm. He went to the civil war with the CSA as a body servant of a Captain Scofield. He was captured by Union troops of the 7th Ohio Cavalry and remained with them for the rest of the war. He also served with the 10th Cavalry as a cook, and 6 months with the 8th Illinois Battalion.
