A little. I think the Silas Bailey b. 1756 Middelsex, Ma who was married to Lavina Bartlett and had Mary (polly) Bailey and Silas Bailey was the Silas Sr. of Nelson, KY.There's a record in Nelson County dated 1812 listing A chancery court suit for Silas Bailey and listed the heirs as Silas, Mary, William, John (infant), Thomas (infant), and george (infant). It listed Silas as next of kin.
I know that Silas Bailey Sr. & Jr. were listed in Nelson County KY near Bloomfield tithable census of 1790 and tax records of 1792. They moved with other and were farming in Phillips Co., Arkansas, along side my William Bailey, (grandfather to Thomas Bailey who married Millie Burkett). There are land purchases by Silas Sr. and Silas Junior recorded in the Helena Office of Phillips county, dated 1832. Silas married Margaret Fetherchile (FeatherKile ?) on 4 Jul 1832 in Phillips County, ArK. There is a land record of Silas Bailey Sr.selling property on old town ridge for $100 on 25 Dec 1834. There was a Silas Jr. and Silas Sr who were farming in Mooney Township of Phillips County in the 1838 and 1839 census of phillips co. I think there must have been at least 3 generations of Silas's from this family.I don't know how or if they tie into my line. My line goes William-> Thomas-> Thomas-> Silas born 1812 who was my gggrandfather. I think it's possible that Silas Sr. and my william were brothers. They all lived in Nelson, Ky and then migrated and farmed together in Phillips Co., AR. I just haven't been able to prove any direct relationship yet. There is also the Thomas who married Elizabeth Ash who was in Nelson Co. Records, but I don't know how he ties into all of this. I have the will of Thomas, listing Elizabeth as is wife (probably Elizabeth ASh) and listed Silas Sr. as executor so there must be a tie there.
There are so many Thomas, william, and silas!!! I'm making a date grid that shows them all and the dates so I can determine which generation each is and then adding land, marriage, and wills to figure out family relationships. It's slow and tedious. I would appreciate any light you could shed on allof this. Thanks,
Lynn (Bailey) Cooper

: Yes, I am interested in the Ash-Bailey
: connection. I am researching my Thomas
: Bailey that married Milly Burkett of Nelson
: Co, KY, but I think he is related somehow to
: the Thomas Bailey who married Elizabeth Ash,
: of Nelson Co, KY. Is this your line? I have
: the copy of his will and the administrator
: is Silas Bailey. There is a Silas Bailey Sr,
: and Silas Bailey Jr.who are probably related
: to the Thomas and Elizabeth line.Anyway, let
: me know if this is the line you're talking
: about.
: Thanks,
