aeriating

I need to aeriate and the only aeriator that I can find locally is one at the rental shop that has a drum and rolls instead of the kind that the golf courses use that punch strait down. It seems to me that the drum style would be fine since I will topdress heavily anyway. Has anyone used one like this? Thanks, Matt T.
