Posted by Jim Wile --Previous Message-- Another but more expensive suggestion is to buy a wetting agent. You can get one at Lesco. You apply this with a sprayer, and you should spray the whole green.

: Hi all, I am from CT and we are

: completely dead, just appearing

: What I have been doing the past few
: days is watering the whole green a
: lot, but especially those spots. I
: appliewd a granular fungicide a few

: 3-4 weeks since I fertilized
: it...are those spots a lack of
: nitrogen or just because of the heat
: wave? Thanks all! Your help is

It may be localized dry spots. The way to check is to use a soil probe if you have one. If not, cut a small wedge with a pocket knife and look at the soil. If it is dry, you've got a localized dry spot. They are not that easy to wet and require some help. If there are just a few, you could try a soap solution. Mix about 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap in a 2-gallon watering can. Sprinkle this on the dry spots. Then water them with a hose. Don't be alarmed when they turn a darker green than the surrounding turf. This will go away in a couple of days.
