
Posted by Gary P. I know what you are going through, since I also had the black slime last year, with all the rain. The other two responses are correct, this condition mostly comes down to a drainage issue. I have found that natural soil greens seem to get this fungus when you have excessive moisture and not enough sun to dry the surface. Daconil will help, but you may want to consider core aerating these areas and backfill it with sand. In my experience that slime will hang around, until you remove it, or until you get several days of hot sunny weather. And even then, some of it is still present. Another idea that a friend of mine does at his golf course is verticutting the slimed areas, he claims it helps. Gary --Previous Message--
