I press the cup to make an imprint on the green and use a knife (ordinary steak knife) to cut the hole along the imprint just made. I cut inside the imprint so that the hole is a tad smaller than the cup. Then, I use a small hand garden shovel to dig out the hole. Because the hole is a tad smaller than the cup, the cup is tight to push down the hole and when pushed, it ends up to be just the right fit and nobody notices that it was made without a hole cutter.
