Hi Jeff.
When it gets dry use a shop broom or even a stiff household broom and smooth out the surface with the broom, then wet it down. If it still isn't smooth just keep repeating rolling brooming until you get it perfect you may also have to broom out some foot prints. If you are puting down sod a smooth surface is not as important as you can level the surface with top dressing.
