I think yesterday's frank thread was very usefull in airing problems and possible solutions.
I look forward to helping enact breeding selection criteria for Europe and any others who want to participate.
I've been to Holland twice and while I'm sorry that some imported pups have not matured into excellent dogs, I feel the problems Sita has listed, are being overstated.
I refuse to cede authority to accept outcrosses to the LBF or EKC. Call these dogs OEB and run with it.
The conformation class called Leavitt and Leavitt-like should more properly be called OEB and there should be a separate class for 100% LB's even if it is small. The same is true for RB's who I had to judge against Hermes dogs with a completely different look. If it takes 40 dogs to make a class worthwhile for the promoter's wallet then let clubs or businesses sponsor the small classes.

I think that is a great idea, i agree with that completely! It would be much better to get the 100% LB's in a separate class. Maybe in the future we can do it that way. Think it could be more interesting for all of us to see only 100% LB's in one ring
Does anybody out there knows how many LB's there was at the show in holland? Would be an interesting information.

Hey Jessica,
first let me say: I like your dogs, they are wonderful bulldogs. I love especially Eliza, she's exactly what i expect from a bulldog
But... as David says: It would be great to have the 100% LB's in one ring. Finally your 75% dogs are LB outcrosses. And -if i understand David correctly- only an 100% is a LB and all the outcrosses should be named OEB.
However, i think it doesn't matter. Most important thing is that the dog is healthy and it is what you are happy with

Hi Jessica
No problem every dog with LBA papers is a Leavitt Bulldog. His information is just for shows. He like to judge the 100% Leavitt separated. But in the end of the show the L Like and 100% always competed to getter. Last year our 75% beats all 100% except for her 100%daddy so don`t worry.

I agree!! I have been in this breed for almost 9 years now and I talk to other Leavitt Bulldog breeders, owners and many of the people that have gotten dogs from me, and I have not heard or seen of so many issues. I am not a one that is kennel blind either, actually quite the opposite, so I honestly do not know what is going on with the dogs over there. Bad luck maybe, bad dogs getting bred, or maybe something else, who knows. But I am willing to help any way I can as well.Life is to good to be bothered by ignorant people.
