When I got my 1st dog 15 years ago, I got him microshipped since in Switzerland tattoing was already forbiden.
All my dogs have always had a microship, and I will microship the puppies I have short before 8 weeks old.
Where I live, you have to have your dog microshiped for about 6 years now, and in the whole country for about 4 years.
Never had any problem with this.
