A percentage of Shelters here in the US also send their animals on to research laboratories for use in testing. Worse is the fact that some of these animals are rendered and are used to make pet food. I'm glad if these things don't go on in Europe but some of my views are formed by having worked fostering and rescuing siezed or abandoned dogs and I'm presently working on a project that takes care of 664 homeless cats on the island where I live in Florida.
