As I really like the discussion we have with the health issue, I'd like to show you something I did with Hudson in April, for the other part of a dog: temperament. He was 7 month old at that time.
In Switzerland, we have new trial/competition for about 5-6 years. It is called Mobility. It's an official competition accepting all dogs, usually organised by the Swiss Kennel Club.
This trial was just a fun one, not official. This kind of work is very interesting to built the dog's confidence.
Hudson and I went just like that, never training this before and I've been surprised by his ability do make all things.
Here are the pictures:
First, a tunnel doing a U (dog doesn't see the out)
Hudson: what's that?
Oh! I have to go in!
Done!
Walking is/through wheels
Too easy!
The dog has to stay in while I have to make a complete round (hopefully I had treats!)
Umbrella...
Scary!
Hidden recall: the dog didn't see me go and hide.
Open tunnel.
Sit, down, up
Walking on metal
I had to throw 5 balls and the dog has to stay sit... we failed all balls! lol
The dog has to stay down while this thing makes a complete round.
To hold a toy
Recall without a word to the dog.
Stay sit 10 seconds in the round
Walking on a soft surface, off the ground.
Walking off the ground with a stop in the middle.
I hope I'll make some more because it's really fun.
Thanks for looking.
