Wry jaw and missing teeth are a big problem in the Leavitts??
The only problem I have seen or even heard of in this breed, is from a particular dog that was used by one breeder, that passed pups over to you guys from this dog and was sold for breeding in another country or at least is being used for breeding purposes. Other then that, like every single breed out there, there might be a dog here or there that pops up with something weird(like wry jaw), but that is how it goes sometimes. I personally have not had anything like this in my dogs, except a few kinked tails, but lets be honest! You can not predict when it is going to happen. But as a "RESPONSIBLE BREEDER", it is our responsibility to not let dogs with these issues into the gene pool period.
Although most of these pups off of this dog have been found to have a significant amount of missing teeth, they are still getting bred!?!
, even by breeders that know this is a problem stemmed from a certain dog and was passed on. I hear a lot of complaining about the subject from the owners of these dogs, even a few phone calls from a few, but they are still breeding them, and selling them for breeding, so I don't get it.
It is not the LBA's fault that a few greedy people keep breeding this and selling dogs with this, it is the breeders fault. Unfortunately the LBA can not baby sit everyone that owns or wants to breed a Leavitt Bulldog, so come on, seriously, we all know breeding dogs with this issue is only going to increase numbers. So here is an idea to solve this:
!!!!STOP BREEDING DOGS WITH MISSING TEETH!!!!
Life is to good to be bothered by ignorant people.104
