I don't have any info that could help you but I can make a couple of suggestions. Try the local genealogical society in Corbin. They would have info on the children's home. They may be able to direct you to documents, possibly.
The Speedwell that your speaking about is more than likely over in Claiborne County, Tn. The valley is more than likely Powell Valley, also in Claiborne County, Tn.
