Aust Day Classic - Hot Weather - Cancelled or Postponed

With reference to the message on facebook..... Hot Weather Policy - for those that where not around or may have forgotten, the hot weather policy came into effect after a race meeting that was held at the BGKC circuit. A number of senior & junior karter's ended up with heat exhaustion and as parents we spent the day soaking towels in esky's filled with water & ice to try to cool people down (even race suits got dowsed). Dept of Rec & Sport has a temperature policy and at the time that the current 39 degrees was set that was also reviewed and taken into consideration, 39 degrees is above the Dept of Rec & Sport limit - remember you are not dealing with professional athletes here. Please consider what the temperature could be inside a race helmet, suit, boots & gloves let alone the volunteers that have to stand in the heat all day.
Regarding cancellation of the race meeting .... you need to check your terminology Refer 2018 Rule Book 25 a) Cancellation means that the proposed meeting or event competition never takes place Postponed meeting or event can be run at a later date that fits within the race calendar. Surely no club in SA can afford to cancel a race meeting.
