I am saddened when I attend an auction and see the faithful old Arab mare that gave you so many beautiful foals, or the kids horse that is no longer looked at, or that skinny foal that has been taken from it's mom too early and lacking any attention or training. The cold reality of it is that they are no longer needed, wanted, or sometimes the owner just doesn't have the means to care for them anymore. The unfortunate fate of these animals more times than not takes them to an even sadder place where they are crammed into a transport truck, frightened for what is to come next.
