Hi Jodi and all, yes Lace had her foal, it was a gorgeous black (no white) purebred filly. Unfortunately we lost her shortly after her birth. I have been so upset, first foal we ever lost. The vet thinks it was dysmaturity/congenital hypothyroidism or dummy foal. Mare was overdue a little, filly was weak after she was born, had contracted tendons and an elongated lower jaw. By 24 hours she couldn't even stand to nurse anymore. She had to be put down as vet said there was absolutely no chance for her. I have heard of a few others having this problem in the area this year.... Now Blacklady Shaqila is due, she has been waxing and this AM is dripping a little, but still yellowish white. I stayed home to watch her. She is homzygous black bred to a homozygous black stallion Shine On Mahogany. Foal is not mine though, unfortunately.... May have to buy it though if owner decides to sell, should be an absolute beauty. Midnight Jazz was due last week as well, she looks in foal but not much of a bag yet, did the milk test on her, but doesn't show that she is even close. She was US in foal after bred, so I am really hoping for this baby. It would be such an awesome cross!! Sonja
