I don't think it was a "week or 2" later that Metairie was rescued. It could have been a month. I just can't recall. Don't feel like digging in my hundreds of papers to find out. Can't find his listing on petfinder (it's probably gone anyway) as no way to search with key words anymore (that I know of anyway).
