Just got this... I am so happy and thank everyone on this board who helped ARNO to help this cat. It is only 1 happy story, but amongst so much sadness for the animals it does prove that just sometimes we can make a difference.
I haven't forgotten about you! I was waiting to get some new pictures
before I wrote you back, but my digital camera is in the shop and is
taking longer to get back than planned. I will send you pictures soon,
though.
have never seen any creature that is as happy as Louis. Every day is a new
adventure for him. He is inquisitive and smart. My mom keeps saying that
if he were a person, he would go to Harvard. I agree.
absolute joy! Every day he does adorable new things. Today, he jumped in
the dryer filled with newly warm towels and was so content, it was
difficult pulling him out.
Recently, he also started sleeping with, making biscuits on and purring at
my 75-pound dog, Laddie. Laddie, who is 12 years old, and who has been my
closest companion since I was 8 years old, is starting to appreciate his
young, energetic new furry friend.
Louis' earlier bad habits, such as biting people and shyness, have basically
ceased. He used to bite a lot, now he only does it to communicate that he
does not want to be held or that he wants to play. He has become friendly,
and tends to jump into people's arms, which is rare for a cat.
Louis also loves his toys. The house is filled with cat toys, and he is
constantly creating his own new toys with various objects he finds in my
house. Expensive ties, tampons, full sized pillows, plants, towels,
stuffed animals, dresses, hangers, shoes and, yes, even Laddie, can be
seen dragged throughout my house at all hours of the night by this 14
pound cat. Every night, Louis works frantically in my dining room and I
awake to a surprise which consists of a cat made fort filled with all of
his newly discovered (and old favorite) "toys." I then am forced to play
about 45 minutes of hide-and-seek before I can actually catch Louis and
get some TLC. It is really an adventure.
our home and is given so much love in return. He is healthy! His feline
herpes is in remission. He has gained a necessary 5 pounds. The vet says
he is in perfect health. He is full of life. He is such a wonderful
addition to our family.
