Posted by Lisa on 6/8/2002, 3:34 pm I felt compelled to write to you because of the rather interesting way I came across your music. I am living for one year in Buenos Aires, I met an Argentine friend here who spent 6 years When I get back to the states I hope to catch one of your shows. Meanwhile, while I am here, I hope I will have more opportunities to learn As they say here...el mundo es un pañuelo (the world is a handkerchief, or, in our terms, its a small world). living in Texas, and he renewed an interest that I have in classic country music that stems from my childhood days. I actually wrote in one of my very early journals that I wanted to be a country singer. Well, that never quite came to fruition, but, in addition to the Latin, Pop, Rock, Opera, and classical, and other types of music I have been investigating here in BsAs,I decided to take a look at blue grass. That is where I came across your stuff (e.g., Uncle Earl), and, after listening to a few songs, I have become a fan of your
work. One song that particularly caught my attention was ¨Ann Arbor Days.¨ You see, I graduated this spring with a
master´s from U of M´s school of public policy, and my permanent address is
in Southeast Michigan. It is kind of funny to me that I came across your
music half a world away, all thanks to some Argentine who happens to be a
friend of a friend, who spent 7 years in Texas,
and who reminded me of music I had neglected since I was about 12 (16
years ago).
about your music. Good luck with all, and I will try my best to get one of your CDs.
