The best bet is Uncle Earl, not Jo's solo band. Women have fought too long and too hard to get recognition in the music industry. Now that the gates are wide open, it would be in Jo's best interest to focus more on Uncle Earl since the band has FAR more to offer and is a higher caliber band than her solo band.
It's too bad she wastes her time on bandmates who could pass for her father and just do not have the same chemistry. Face it, her solo band pales in comparison to Uncle Earl. If you want truly want to support top notch music, pay more attention to Uncle Earl. These women have a better chance of getting the recording contract they deserve and who wants to look at males who look like they're ready to be put out to pasture?!
Sorry, men do NOT look better when they age, and neither do women! How often do you see the recording industry putting all of their time and effort into musicians "over the hill", not very often. The industry unfortunately is more focused on younger musicians and Uncle Earl can still pass for the "younger" look. The solo band can't.
This is how the industry works, sex sells and "old" doesn't. Those are the bizzare games the industry plays.
Watch what happens when Uncle Earl starts taking off. They'll sell more, book more, earn more, etc. The "Willie Dunns" will be "Willie's Done."
