The Dixie Chicks are a reformulation of all the bad aspects of hat acts, repackaged for maximum female exploitation. A woman backed by an all-male band has always been somewhat of a novelty in the music business; women are either part of all female groups (the Spector era girl groups, The Supremes, etc.) or solo acts (Brenda Lee, Petula Clark, Billie Holiday). I prefer the male/female setup, as it offers more depth for Jo to work with. And maybe I'm the only person who's noticed, but men look better as they age. Get over it. Jo knows what she's doing.
