I forgot the most interesting story from one of my elderly clients. This is a day that I see all of them because of Mothers Day tomorrow. Anyway, i asked her if she had ever seen things as bad as they are now, she reminded me that she lived through the depression so she does remember times when they were just as hard. Then she proceeded to tell me her story. She said her parents were bootleggers in the 30's and Dillinger used to buy his moonshine from them. She said one day when he came by to buy from them, her mother was crying. He asked her why she was crying and she told him, "Someone robbed the bank so I can't get the money to buy my kids new shoes." She said he rewached into his pocket and gave her the money for the shoes. Course later she found out, it was Dillinger who robbed that bank. I had to laugh and tell her that is a Robin Hood story if I have ever heard one. Maybe she should try to get that one in the history books. I thought it was so cute, I had to share it. Her facial expressions when she told the story were classic. I so enjoyed talking to her today and each and everytime I do her hair. So much knowledge and even thopugh her body is giving out, her mind is sharp as a razor. She reminds me a lot of my grandma who was sharp till the very end.
