You are so sweet. Thanks Dot!!I would love to see what pictures you have of Buffy. I seriously don't know what I would do without my other doggies through this time. They add so much sunshine to my life that I can't help but smile and make as many memories as I can with them, like I did with Buffy.
My vet sent me flowers the day I had to put her down and they are still thrieving and more colorful than the day he sent them. It tells me her love is very much still alive in my house. Although my Lola has been quite the handful. She wants to be alpha doggie but Chance isn't having any of that. He got tired of having her growl in his ear on Sunday and went after her. That is always scary considering Chance has about 90 pounds on Lola and when he gets made, he is powerful to say the least. He didn't hurt her but she surely respects him before growling in his ear. Poor Toby (the yellow lab) takes the brunt of it. He is so funny, the most non confrontation dog I have ever owned. He looks at her like, "What?? What did I do now?" He takes off running from her and he is fun to watch run as he has been caged his whole life until now or only been on a leash when outside. He is so fast and the muscles in his legs when he is running are so impressive. He gives Lola a run for her title of fastest dog in the yard. Sets my heart free to watch him run free. Course, he is my buddy, he has to be right with me at all times and has bonded nicely into my family. He always has to be right by my side when I am home.
With Buffy it was hard because it wasn't in my plan to put her down. I took her in for X rays and the vet told me from examining her he was 80% sure she had bone cancer. i believe she was about 14 years old. It was hard because noone got to say goodbye, I had to make a choice in the moment and I knew if i brought her home, i would have a difficult time taking her back to the vet. Hardest part was my mom cried when she heard and was upset she didn't get to say good-bye to her but she understood I did what was best for her as she was suffering. My doggies make an impact on my everyone in my family. Their support brings me great comfort.
My clients have been wonderful too. They are sending me cards and giving me gifts in rememberance of Buffy. I suppose I talk about my dogs more than I realize at work. Needless to say, people know how special they are to me.
Hugs!!
