Kid you not there were all of 6 people in the theatre. When I first walked in 5 minutes before showtime, I was the only person in the theatre. positive was, I got my choice of seats.
The movie was ok. It was too long in my opinion, I felt there were so many scenes they could of cut out. Brad did a good job with the part, but, there were times I saw Brad Pitt in the character.His telling Quennie she is his mom, being adopted by her I couldn't help but see that he was trying to say adoptive parents are near and dear to a childs heart. You just never know if it will play out that way or not as much as I am sure he hopes for it with his adopted children.
I didn't really feel the chemistry between Cate and Brad. I think they were fools to have found one another time after time again and not realizing they were meant to be together. But instead, to live separate lives. I didn't agree with him leaving, running off when it got difficult. To be a child living on the streets alone to having her return to him and care for him anyway. He left her in the best time of his life and she ended up caring for him anyway. I found it depressing but I didn't feel the need to cry. Well, maybe a little tear at the very beginning when she told her mom how important she was to her life. But, the emotion didn't come across to me in the times where they chose to be apart.
The manner that Daisy told her daughter the truth on her death bed was heartbreaking to me. If this man was the love of her life, seems she would of shared it with her daughter years before.
I don't know, if that was a love story, it doesn't say much for love. I believe love can conquer the good times and the bad. They obviously shared a strong connection in life but neither of them ever really stuck around long enough to explore it.They were happiest when they were together but than denied it to themselves.Just didn't sit right with me.
