I've been so tied up with work this past week that I never got back here to say that I did see "Shine a Light" last weekend. I found out it was playing at DC's biggest theater, the oldest one left that's a single-screen theater, with a huge curved screen. I did like the movie very much. The Stones have always fascinated me, and it's just mind-boggling to me that they are still going strong!
I thought the song mix was pretty good -- some of the great iconic hits, some lesser hits that are familiar (some of those were a pleasant surprise to hear ... I especially liked what they did with "Shattered"), and some I've never heard. And I enjoyed the songs with the guest artists .... well, not so much Jack White's song -- that one didn't do much for me. But Buddy Guy and Christina Aguilera were terrific.
It's hard to fathom how Mick Jagger can have such endless energy at 64!!
I swear, he could compete with a teenager! I remember hearing a few years ago that he was running 7 miles a day. He must still be doing that. It was tiring just to watch him. LOL!
As for IMAX or not, I guess it's up to one's individual taste. For me, nothing compares to that up-close-and-personal experience that IMAX offers for a concert film, especially when the sound system is top-notch. Although my experience seeing "Shine a Light" was very positive, I'd still like to experience it in IMAX.
