They have a vocational program here for high school students who go to high school in the morning then they go to vocational school for their chosen profession in the afternoon. They have all different professions included in this and only two students are chosen from each area high school. Rachel was chosen and started in her junior year of high school. My son did mechanics when he was in school, but, he wasn't as serious about it as Rachel is.
They honor a senior every year who uses their chosen craft in their life beyond high school so Rachel has a real good chance to win since she will come into the salon and take it over for me. She said in the interview they asked lots of questions about my salon. I am ready for her to come in. She has lots of good ideas and will be taking business course in the fall.
The salon is really starting to turn around now. It has been 4 years since those other gals left and usually it takes 5 years to get it going again.
