Yes indeed, Merry Christmas to all of my friends here! I wish you the warmth and love of friends and family at this time of year. May you have more smiles than you can count!
Thanks so much to all of you for your kind thoughts on my dad's passing. He was a sweetie, lived a long, good life, and is now rewarded by having an eternity to dance with my mom (their favorite pastime).
I am back in Chicago with my sister and brother-in-law for the holiday, then on to my mother-in-law's place for the New Year. We still have my dad's apartment to finish closing out and some financial affairs to settle. Not the easiest time of year to find people in their offices to handle things, but we'll do what we can. And of course, fit in some holiday time too. My sister and I read the old poem "The Night Before Christmas" out loud tonight, in the way our dad used to read it to us when we were kids. He did some funny things with it, and we did the same, in his honor. It was silly fun reminiscing.
