Hey there, my friends, long time no see! Since I went to San Francisco a month ago for my conference, it's been pretty hectic, though I'm finally beginning to feel like I'm catching up on a few things. I just read through the last few posts, and let me just say that I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving -- even you, Louis, LOL. We stayed here since we couldn't face another trip so soon, and I made a nice dinner for my hubby and son and I. It was a cozy time.
Penny, I'm so sorry for Ann's loss of her baby. She has a great consoler there in Andrew, and I hope she's well and able to move on.
How fun was that, Gina, that you got to see John Mellencamp live, AND get the personally autographed t-shirts! Way cool. I would have loved to see you speechless!
LOL, just kidding! But I'd have loved to see him in concert too. I've never heard that song you mentioned. You know, he was the substitute movie reviewer a few months ago on Ebert & Roeper's review program (subbing for Ebert, of course), and he did an excellent job. He has such a nice speaking voice, and he was very reflective in his comments. He should do that again!
Well, the sad news here is that it looks like my dad, who just turned 93 three weeks ago, is very close to the end of his road. He had to be taken to the hospital on Thursday, and at first they thought he would be alright once they discovered he had an infection and he started getting antibiotics. But he took a turn for the worse today, and my sister got a call from his doctor to say she'd better come see him. So she is on her way over there now. Chicago is expecting an icy storm this afternoon, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her drive out there too.
Be well, everyone! Hugs for all. I'll keep you posted.
